Community Transport

Designed by our in-house engineering team using the principles employed in fire engines, the JDC Advantage is a practical design that is reliable, durable and built to last.  It followed a great deal of customer research that involved talking to drivers and care assistants as well as those who buy and run the vehicles.

That's why the JDC Advantage Bus has a very low, well-llit entry step and halogen lights at the rear to ensure that shadows are not cast when wheelchair passengers are entering or leaving. It also has strong grab handles, more headroom and wider seats, along with many other design details to improve usability and reduce total cost of ownership. 

Also introduced are many new features that are standard on a JDC fire engine but are rarely, if ever, found on community buses. Detail examples include head bump pads, antispray mats in the rear wheel arches and pull out auxiliary battery trays. For extra strength we do not use plywood or bolts to connect the body to the chassis. The subframe is galvanised steel with the rest of the construction in welded aluminium, with aluminium side panelling and a GRP front, rear and roof. As well as being a better environmental solution it also makes the vehicle lighter and stronger. The unique flat floormakes it safer for users and also improves vehicle rigidity.
